KALAS!
And the biggest meanest father raper of them all ... oh ...ahem.
KALAS!
Kalas has an unpleasant history with MacLeod. When both were residents of a monastery in 1658, Mac discovered that Kalas was killing Immortals as they left the sanctuary of Holy Ground. Kalas had a glorious singing voice, but his soul was rotten to its very core. When Father Paul heard Kalas confess to his misdeeds, Kalas was banished from the monastery, and vowed to take his vengeance. In a later confrontation, Mac slashes Kalas' throat, ruining his voice forever, and further deepening their mutual enmity.
Now Father Paul and his brothers are lured to sing at Kalas' concert hall, and Kalas takes Paul's head. Kalas also arranges to have Dr Anne charged with negligence in the unlikely and unnecessary deaths of her patients. Drugs are found on the premises of Joe's Bar. Coincidence that all these things happen to Mac's friends while Kalas is in town? No. Kalas is trying to rip away Mac's circle of support. Kalas and Mac meet in battle. Kalas is good.
Mac dies when he takes a long fall to the concert hall floor. Dr Anne witnesses Mac's death. Kalas leaves for parts unknown. Mac leaves Richie in charge and leaves for France, leaving Anne grieving for him.
Questions:
1. That guy Kalas really knows how to carry a grudge, eh? Not much one for looking on the bright side of things. Probably doesn't have "when life hands you lemons, make lemonade" tattooed on his chest. Does he have any redeeming characteristics?
2. Father Paul actually had a sword to go to when Kalas confronted him on stage. Does this surprise anyone who has seen Immortals like Benny Carbassa completely unable to defend themselves?
